Kalmanas ("we", "our", "us") is a Vedic astrology engine that computes birth charts, dasha timelines, muhurtha analysis, and other Jyotish calculations. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account via Google Sign-In, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. We do not store your Google password.

Birth Chart Data

To generate your Vedic birth chart, we collect the date, time, and place of birth you provide. This data is stored securely in Firebase Firestore and associated with your account.

Usage Data

We use cookie-free analytics (Umami) to understand how visitors use the app. This data is anonymous and does not include personal identifiers. No cookies are set for analytics purposes.

How We Use Your Data

• To compute and display your Vedic birth chart, dashas, yogas, and other astrological analyses
• To save your profiles so you can return to them later
• To provide muhurtha (auspicious timing) calculations
• To improve the accuracy and features of our calculations

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) with security rules that ensure only you can access your own birth chart profiles. All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties.

Third-Party Services

• Firebase Authentication — for secure sign-in via Google
• Firebase Firestore — for storing your saved profiles
• Umami Analytics — cookie-free, privacy-focused usage analytics
• Razorpay — for processing payments in India (we do not store card details)
• Stripe — for processing international payments (we do not store card details)

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Export your birth chart data
• Use the app without creating an account (limited features)

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated birth chart profiles and personal data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

Kalmanas is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
